a few things first if you can post a pick or vid that would help. 

sometimes val takes a long time to establish. mine has taken a month and it still isn't quite booming

also don't bury the crown. meaning only plant the roots and nothing else. so if you did just pull it up to the top of the roots. p.s. this applies to all plants( except stemplants)
