My local fish store sells this plant called Kyoto (Ophiopogon japonicus) or Mondo Grass. I also saw this plant for sale at Home Depot and it is also called Ophiopogon japonicus. Is this plant both terestrial and aquatic? Some people say they are terestrial and die within months under water and some people say that they are aquatic? Does anyone have any experience with this plant?

Its not a true aquatic plant! It will die off! Been there done that. Good luck

Ok thanks. You just saved me from buying it. :)

Survives/Grows emergent, but not entirely submerged. It will last underwater for a long while, but it prone to grow algae.
