I have a 29 and I bought a dual T5 fixture on Ebay made by Odyessea.  My plants are thriving now, before they were barely growing, some of them even melted away.  I have a lot of growth now.  I also have DIY Co2 runnign as well, but I think the lights are the most important.   The fixture I bought wa about 40 bucks, and it's well made for the price.

Hey Joe thx for the lamp info I went only and found one with free shipping for 45.95 thx so much :)

prob the same one i got on ebay, its a good deal, and quality is great for the price too

Yeah I was think about a dual T% fixture also. I have seen one at Petsmart for 60 bucks. But I was't sure if it was enough for plants? Thanks

I can only recommend what I've had success with.  On that size tank, I have a dual T5 made by Coralife.  The fixture can be had on Amazon and includes 1 6700k bulb and 1 10000k bulb.  I've found the lights to be more than adequate for low-medium light requiring plants.  For the record, this tank is dirted.  That said, if I had to do this again, I'd probably go the CFL route with aluminum parabolic reflectors, which is what I've used on my newest 55 gallon setup.  Much cheaper, more lighting options, and not bad to look at if you're using glass canopies.  Alternatively, you could also hang the CFLs.  Either way, I recommend investigating the concepts of lux and par to determine your lighting.  For this, a simple google search will suffice.  Good luck!

Thanks!
