I had 3 of the 24" Plant Light fluorescent light fixtures on my 55. Package claimed 75 watts of light and only uses 17watts of energy. The plants seemed to be doing ok but i thought i should be getting a little more light and faster plant growth than what i had.

Just installed a 48" T8 fluorescent light fixture with 2 (daylight 6500K tubes) 32 watts and wow what a difference. Awesome light, tank looks awesome now.

My question is has anyone had any experience with using T8 light fixtures. Will it be more than enough light for my plants or is it too much? Looks 10 times better than what i had. This was much more cost effective than going with a T5 set up, that would have set me back almost 240 dollars. And the set up I have now was about 25 dollars.

Please take a look at my pictures and let me know…thanks!
