Here's my first planted tank two days after it was planted. It's a 29 Gallon with organic potting soil capped with 1mm gravel. Lighting consists of 1 HO T5 6500k and 1 20w T8 6700k. I'm Going to run DIY C02 before I put any fish in and get it grown in the way I want it but I haven't fired up the reactor yet :)

Plants are: Dwarf Hairgrass, Rotala Indica, Ludwigia Repens,  Gold Lloydiella, and Dwarf Sag. Hope you enjoy! I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

UPDATE!

Well everyone,

It's been awhile since I've been on so I thought I'd give you an update on how the tank is coming along. I took out the CO2 and have started adding Excel Flourish every other day. The lighting has changed to 2 T5 HO fixtures. I now have 16 Zebra Danios, 3 Otto Cats, 2 Cory cats, 3 Ghost shrimp, and a few snails. Enjoy! It looks a lot different now! Amazing what time will do.

Great looking piece of driftwood! Just converted my tank to dirt today, hope it works out well for both of us :)

Glad you enjoyed it! Good luck with your tank!

I love the driftwood!  Looking forward to seeing it filled it.

That is a really nice piece of driftwood you have there! Good luck with the dirt

wow, i cant wait to see what this tank turns in to!

great tank, hope it turns out well. Try cutting Rotala stems short after they grow to your liking, then replants the cuttings as foreground plants. I and a few others have tried this with different plants and they turn out looking great. Plus, fish LOVE to spawn in the little forest.

Thanks for the tip!
