My 90 gallon planted. Can I get some advice on what plant I could use for foreground/carpet?

Hey guys, here is my 90 gallon. Can I get some suggestions for some foreground/carpet plants I could get to fill in my tank?

Thanks!

Appreciate the reply... very interesting. I had Hairgrass growing like crazy in a flowerpot filled with garden soil - just like yours. But they melted away when I transferred them to gravel.

But let me get a couple things straight:

Am I right that both tanks had garden soil, LEDs, and a similar fish load. And were both capped with gravel? And am I right that the only difference between the tanks is that one received water changes, substrate vacuuming, and "chemicals" while the other did not?   If so, what kind of chemicals ("added all the chemicals") did you add?  And what are "total changes" you refer to in the passage, "added all the chemicals, gravel sucking, and total changes."

It doesn't surprise me, by the way, that your plants thrived in the "neglected" tank. Plants love a crappy atmosphere - literally! But it does surprise that the fish did better without water changes. I wouldn't call it shocking; its entirely possible the thriving Hairgrass helped clean up nitrates. This is Diana Walstad's general idea.

Very interesting - Thank-you.

you can try using temple plants they normally grow tall but i found if you lay them on there side across the bottom with somthing to hold them down for a while they will root in like a vine on a wall and grow up sideways easy to grown plant to, gives a jungle look
