Hi everybody

Well i have been keeping low light plants in my 10 gallon tank for a while now but i wanted to try some more difficult plants. So i have a couple questions about the substrate.

So i was thinking of starting off with bonsai soil or eco complete ( or something similar to that).

My questions are what do you guys think of using bonsai soil and which would be the best choice between the two?

And if i go with eco complete will i need a top layer of normal gravel or can it be used by itself?

If you guys have any suggestions i would appreciate them.

Thank You

go eco complete if u can u do NOT need to cap it w/ another layer of anything but you will need to dose ferts and use root tabs. never heared of bonsai soil but sounds like dirt (enriched dirt) which would require a cap of gravel or other substrate, also u dont need to dose ferts when using dirt.

Thank you so much you really cleared things up for me. I will probably start the process this weekend.
