I do not wish to dirt my tank as had previously dirted my tank and all my plants wore covered in algae by the end of the week so had to be thrown away, I need advice on arrangement of plants, I am going to give my neon tetra away and maybe my cory catfish so I need advice on what to stock the aquarium with, I also have a very large piece of wood which I am trying to break into smaller pieces but having no luck in currently covers 1/3 of my aquarium. I also have a huge amount of playsand available if that comes into any use.
I appreciate your answers if you need to know anything else about the tank just ask and I will answer asap
Thanks.

thats quite a few plants you got there. my suggestion is to buy a little at a time...the best way i have found to scape a tank is to get background plants first then work your way up towards the foreground. if you arent dirting then i advise a plan on feeding your plants such as dry ferts, liquid ferts, root tabs, or some kind of nutrient rich substrate. those plants wont last without nutrients.
The reason I getting so many plants is because they come in a bundle and as I am buying offline I don't wont to be paying shipping cost every now and again, my first idea was to dirt it and cap with sand however I see numerous people have problems with capping with sand. Furthermore I have seen allot of people have success with kitty litter substrate for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTA7y9Tns5M, http://www.youtube.com/user/brechstylez#p/u/15/tbfuhWRh2cw
