-I have a 30G tall and i'm looking for some cool fish.
-I want 1 or 2 knife fish because they are different, very interesting, and get bigger than a tetera. But i also want high lighting conditions so Will they do will in a dencely planted tank with high light?
-How much lighting should I have on my 30gTall? 2 t5's?
-Also, What other fish can you think of that would be nice in a semi agressive tank? I have one comunity tank and i would like something new.
Thanks for your input fish tank people! <33

the most common knifefish species grow far too large to fit comfortably in a 30G, so you will have to be really selective of the species you choose, and research he species before buying. Also knifefish tend to prefer the light to be very dim so that they feel comfortable and less stressed, and hiding. If you put Highlight over a tank with a knifefish in it, it will try to hide almost all day long. If it can't hide, it will stress. When stressed these scaleless fish are extremely susceptible to ich, and lesions.
Thanks GSP, that was the issue that I thought of as well, do you know of any interesting fish that i may be able to put in my tank?
Knifefish are awesome, i reccomend getting only 1, they get pretty teretorial when they grow up. As well as that, they are pretty blind and as far as im aware they dont like bright lights most of the time, so if you do get one, make sure you have a cave where it can hide.
As for other fish, definitely rainbow fish are the most beautiful! They are pretty hardy and some develop colours which can compete with marine fish!
