oddysea rocks i get there lights protein skimmers and heaters lol just don't get the metal halides

Me and Dr.Tim were the first to really start using these fixtures,and since I have had mine,I love it,now the fixture it's self is high quality,but the external ballast is garbage,now I have a quad T5HO fixture,I tried to take some bulbs out just to run one bulb at any one time,and popped the ballasts,as in let the smoke out!After some careful re-wiring I get my wish,but if I want to run all 4 bulbs again I have to buy two new ballasts and @$20 each its kinda expensive.The fixtures and bulbs are good but be careful with the ballasts,they are rated for minimum settings,example my fixture 24'' Quad T5HO 96w,2 sets of 48watts,so that means two ballasts each supporting 48watts MAX,but the ballasts are designed to support two bulbs running at the same time not just one!

For the money they have no equal in price and quality...Oz Mr.Chain-Sword

Hi JB,

I have had some good sucess with ODSY lighting.  I have yet to use any other products on their line card.  If you are looking for lighing only, I feel the 'best bang for your buck' is to go with a Catalina light.  Great quality ballats, individual ultra polished german reflectors...overall great lights.

Yep I'm loving my 48" t5ho odyssea fixture with built in timer :)

thats the one ive been looking at with the quad setup,, it seems too good to be true. how many diff settings does the timer have ??

Mines only the trio. I can turn on and off the leds, 1 bulb, and 2 bulbs. I would guess the quad would have 2 bulbs and 2 bulbs turn on and off.
