Orchid lily ( barclaya longifolia)

I just bought an orchid lily and as I was planting it into my tank. The bulb broke off the part with leaves. The part with the leaves on them have roots and I also planted the bulb to see if I will grow and i don't know what to do. Will the plant be fine? Will a new plant sprint from the bulb?
