Hi guys, my tap water has a low pH of 6.6 how do I raise the ph before or after water changes? I tried API aquarium salt and it raised it slightly.

i would not use salt if you're using it for a freshwater tank,  too much salt will not be good for plants or tropical fish.  I would suggest using some baking soda.  not very much either.  there are sites to help you figure out how to increase the pH.  another way is to use some crushed coral in the filter, or some dolomite rock, as well as any other carbonate substance which increases the hardness and pH.  the more base you add to the water will increase the pH level.  6.6 pH is not bad actually,  its more on the side for fish such as tetras and more acidic liking fauna.

I have German rams, black tetras and two bosemani rainbows. The German rams are the ones who don't seem to like it. Thx for the info.

Why would you want to raise it anyway? I wouldn't mess with pH unless i really had to.
