Bought a pictus catfish today, seemed pretty timid in the shop along with his buddies. Brought him home and he went crazy. There are plenty of caves, live plants and places to hide, but hes up and down the walls, left right like a torpedo. I have never seen this behaviour in my tank before from any of the fish. Accept from the pleco which is very paranoid and hides in his cave after the smallest footstep.
I read some forums which suggest this is normal for the pictus catfish and many people reported this but to me he seems stressed. Is there anything i can do to calm him? xD

he should settle down a little on his own over the next couple days. mine was always a little crazy and also the bully of the tank. i have heard that having two of them settled them down, but i only had one..good luck with him!
new terriroirty and surround.
give it a few days to adjust.
He's calmed down now. He was still very active over night, i can hear his bony head hitting the tank walls once in a while. It seems like he has found a cave and is hiding in it now. I threw in a catfish pellet in the morning and he came out to investigate. Didnt eat much but hoping he will in a few days time.
I would recommend to anyone who wants a pictus catfish to create allot of caves and if you can, leave the tank light off as soon as you put him in the tank and throughout until the morning to let him adjust.
