Dirt your tank.

Dustinsfishtanks has LOTS of information on this.

Like the reply above dirt your tank as it will bring in the nutrients that the plants need in order to grow to a good healthy size, second you will need to have a high lighting system such as t5 ho light fixture and t5 light bulbs, you do not need co2 as i know that plants can grow a flourish without it and that is how i run my tanks no co2 and dustinsfishtanks on youtube he is well known on here and youtube for planted tanks and he runs his tanks without co2, he also sells plants on aquaticjungles so i would suggest getting your plants from him. there is alot more info on youtube and other sources, and you can ask me for some more info.

I would say don't dirt your tank. The process can take weeks to get right.

Get JBL aqua plus. Its like a peat, put that into the tank first.

Grab some clay pots and smash them up real good and put them in the tank as well.

Put pea gravel on the top of that.

hard scape your aquarium and then fill the tank half way.

Put your plants in and fill the rest of the tank up.

Give your plants 12 hours of light for the first 4 days. Do a water change of 25%. Your plants will now do great.

Do a 2 week water change of 35% every 2 weeks.

I disagree with the reply before, I say go on too YouTube and look up How to dirt a tank (DustinFishtanks) and watch as many of his videos you can, they can only help. If you decide too plant a tank a different way go ahead, but getting the tank clear will probably only take a day if you do a water change after SLOWlY filling it up.
After dirting three fishtanks without problems and 6 years of fish keeping I consider my self more knowledgeable than 98% of other fish keeping people I have ever met. I do not consider myself a expert, just have a couple of rounds round the the track
