play sand and plants
hi all
I intend to change from gravel to play sand
can I grow plants in play sand
my tank is an aqua 1- 510 (approx. 19 gal and has been running 6-7 years
I first tried plants about 6 weeks ago and have had good success
my water is p.h is 6.5 -7 from the tap
have just tried co2 injection (home made 30 bubbles a min) and have had to remove it think I was gassing my fish
lost 3 in 3 days (platty's) but I ran it for 10 days no bother before platty's
added 5 platty's a week ago 3 have since died so have removed the co2
the other fish have been fine tetras and loaches there is plenty of aeration
have done two five gallon changes in a week and usually do a 2-3 gallon weekly change
