Hello all, New to this Forum but not to Aquariums.

I've had a 29 Gallon Dirt planted tank for about 9 Months now, its had its ups and downs, but I would like some advice on a new issue thats starting up. Several of my Plants are starting to deteriorate, namely my Amazon Sword as well as my Java Ferns. Some of the older leaves on my Amazon Sword are getting holes through the middle, black spots, some yellowing. My Java ferns have also slowly died, but keep coming back, however their leaves are very small and stunted. The only plants that are doing very well are my Two Anubias plants, which have doubled in size since I got them, and my Anacharis which still grows like weed.

I don't have pictures yet (camera broke), so I cant really show anything. The Dirt I have is Miracle-Gro Organic soil, capped with 2'' of Gravel. I have two double T-5 Fixtures (approx 98 Watts). I don't dose anything, but I have Flourish Excel that I got from a friend that I haven't used. Any advice on the state of my plants would be very helpful.

Ammonia/Nitrites are 0, Nitraites Not quite 0 but not quite 5, PH has always been at a constantly stable 7.5ish. Don't have a Hardness test kit though.

Snail damage on the swords? also old leave will naturally die off. Java fern i would assume it would be from growing new plants. as a new ryzome comes in the mother leaf will die.

I've seen no snails in my tank since about the 3rd month my tank has been setup, unless they are microscopic snails or something (do those even exist?). Two of my Java ferns has released a few little plantlettes, but the 3rd never released any.
