Will having a sand substrate (light colour) harm the red cherry shrimp I'm going to buy. Heard having a darker substrate is better. Why?

it really does'nt matter the color of the substrate you choose. Alot of people choose darker substrate so that the red coloration in the shrimp can stand out and pop. The shrimp dont really care about the substrate. Even in my rcs nano tank i chose a darker substrate ( fluval stratum) and the females red coloration really stand out especially with live plants
Thanks for the info. thought having a ligher subrate stressed and maybe killed them. because I'm buying 50 rcs Tomoz. recently moved all fish out afew days ago. Will adding so many at once be ok? It's 25gal been set up about 6month got a lot of fast growing plants in aswell.
