How mature or big do swords need to be to produce runners and to grow plants? I bought a few swords from my lfs that already had runners and plants on them and I pulled them off for other tanks. One plants is still growing new plants rights now for me on one spot of it's runner. Another plant has stopped producing all together on it's runner. It started with one leaf and that's been it. When I watch distins video his sword has like 5 runners and when I look online for mother plants they usually have three and about 20 leaves. The sword that still produces has only about ten and the one that does nothing has around 22 leaves on it. Idk if just because yet are leafy means nothing on maturity or if the conditions aren't right in the tank? But the plants both have been making new leaves every 3-4 days so the plants themselves are growing like mad. Also idk if they are too different types of swords to have anything in common but my microwsword hardly grows itself but it has like 7 runners with atleast 4 new plants per runner. So it's backwards of my main sword.
