I'm guessing you're paying for the name. Unless they are using thicker glass or better sealant I would say its brand. Check out manufacturer's website for details.

I thought that too but then I was thinking of things like shoes, sure a lot is the name but a lot is the material thats used is from something rarer. So I thought maybe there could be something with that sand used when the glass is made or maybe a different curing process or better silicon. I just can't ever get over the price difference of tanks the same size and shape of two different brand or little mods like taking the plastic edges off of a tank. Or how a small nano tank from fluval costs more then a huge tank from all glass.

aqueon is a bit more heaver and cost more but its very good in quality so you pay more.

 

I have a top fin by petsmart and its a bit lighter than aqueous but cost less.
