What is a good substrate to use for a dirt tank? I have seen that most people use the eco-complete but i fill that dropping $25 a bag for my first dirt tank to be a little over the top. Are their any cheaper alternatives? Right now i have a 30g tall aquarimun with the following plants.
Moneywort (1)
Java fern (1)
Ruffle sword (1)
Gigantea Anubias (1)
I currently have about 35lbs of gravel as my substrate. The plants were all bought at the local pet-smart, and i asked them if any of the plants NEEDED dirt. They said that they didn't but the girl that was helping me didn't seem to know much...If anyone could confirm that would really be nice.
