Can you run a carbon filter in a planted aquarium, and if not what can I replace it with?

Yes u can but carbon takes out some nutrients out the water that plants use but not enough to hurt plants u can replace it with pillow stuffing

No no joke but if u want to buy basically the same thing at a pet store for 4x the price feel free 
To elaborate more the carbon filter u have is fine to run but the compartment were the carbon goes u would change that to pillow stuffing or the floss thing they sell at petstores  but that's if u don't want to run carbon in ur tank but u can run a carbon filter In ur planted tank no problem
