Guys, today I work up to one of my harliquin razboras dead in my tank, and the rest schooling together except for one! Hes lost the front of his mouth and his eye is stretched into an oval shape on one side! I took out some water but what else can I do? He may have a sort of mouth rot or fungus but what's happening with his eye?! Help me please fishtank people!! Any ideas will help! I can set up a 5 gallon med tank, and I have aquarium salt on hand if that will help. Also, I may have some melafix somewhere!

Maybe they had a fight. Try putting the infected once in a separate tank and keep an eye on them.

I agree with Russell it might be getting bullied i would set up that 5 gallon and put him in that and look up diseases i don't want to gynx myself here but i haven't had any problems so i'm not sure what that could be....

Check the list of diseases here. Sounds like he has pop eye and has been getting beaten up

Definitely remove it immediately and add salt to the quarantine tank - maybe 5 teaspoons. Check on him periodically and if there is no progress google fish diseases. Without a picture we can only guess as to  what it is.

Separate him , could be a dispute gone bad . Add a few teaspoons of aquarium salt (varies on tank size) just to be safe. Google mouthrot and pop eye . If you have some stress coat on hand add a little .

Best of luck

For sure you should put in a hospital tank so you can treat with antibiotics if neccesary .  Aquarium salt is really the best natural thing to treat with.  I use one tablespoon per 5 gallons of water every warer change . But you can use more when treating a sickly fish . I will have to get back with you on exactly how much though .  Are all the fis showing signs of being sick ?  You shouldn't treat all wit meds if they are not all affected .  Anyway I wish you the best ,  I know what it's like to have a sick pet .  My electric blue jack dempsey go sick ,  didn't every really know what was wrong with him .  But I treated with aquarium salt regularly for about 4 or more months and he is just now eating good again .  He still don't seem to be 100% but he is much better than he was . I really thoght I was going to lose him .  He is about 7 or 8 inches long and his colors are out of this world.

rld . Well I have rambled on long enough now I will let you be . lol  !

Good luck to you with your pets .  I know how you must be feeling . I know how I was when mine was sick .  Sincerely Eric Von Roberts

I treated with mela fix for 3 days but then I ran out, and salt is hard to use because I have snails and shrimp. One of my mountain shrimp did pass away along with my razbora and now the other mountain shrimp in the tank is acting very strange. He stays at the top of the tank on the outspout. He's been there and hasn't move for almost a week o.O , do I don't know whats up with him... Thanks for the help though guys! And I don't think I was pop eye because his eye was literally stretched opposed to popping out. And I believe it was skin hanging off of the bottom of his mouth. It was very strange!! Thanks for your help guys!

I found putting some aquarium salt in the water helped with mine. But thats just me .
