For most. I have always like the Tetra Whisper series. Pretty much the most known one in
today's market anyway. plus they are pretty quiet.
The reason why is because the baffle tends to loose its performance. This is due to the the air to water pressure and then the bubble media such as stones, wands, and that stick. The deeper it is, the harder
the bubble has to do its work. But you can easily replace the diaphragm or fix it.
I recommend getting air stones vs those green long stinks tubes due to air flow escaping. But I have not tried the flexible wands bubble walls. Gonna get one for my 55 long tank later.
Ok My tetra Whisper just crap on me over the run of 5 years.
When I open it, the baffle was just loose and the O-rings were little worn, The baffle was in great condition and had to just repress it. The o-rings, I just had to use some left over silicon when I reseal my tank and just re-insert the o-rings.
Just some hints when your tetra whisper air pump goes bad on you. The design is very simple.Just open it and see.
never thought about opening it up !!! think ill give it a try today .. Thanks
it is a very simple design. repeated - and + electromagnetic are what move the
baffle up and down to create air. It is a very simple design that is very less likely
to bad on you.
The design for all air pumps by Tetra are the same as it was many years ago.
