Well I recently started up a 55 gallon, right now I only have amazon swords/ anubias nana/ jungle val/ and corkscrew vallisneria. I Don't know what types of lights they are, they came with the fish tank, and I got it who knows how long ago. I'm a little ignorant to the subject of lighting, so if anyone could help me out with what lighting they've had success with and where to get it, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, with those plants should I use Co2? I know I'd be trimming quite often with it going, but is it NEEDED? Thank you!

do u mean u got a 55g kit? if so u could only probably grow anubias w/ that. but if u want u can put a double bulb 48" light   t5no is ok u dont need the ho lights with the plants  have ur lfs sells them or u can get them online or if ur a handy guy go to hardware store like home depot and buy a shop light kit and build the light urself.    Yes u can use use co2 but its not really needed. and no u dont need to trim ur plants at all but it just keeps ur tank a bit more tamed.

Yeah, my parents got the kit probably when I was about 7 or 8 years old (10 years ago) so I lost what type of lights they were, I'm having great success with plants in my 10 gallon with stock lights that came with the kit, granted all I have is tropica fern i believe, and amazon swords. but I'll look into the double bulb 48" light, do you think petsmart will sell it?

Yes they will have it.

Awesome, I'll look for it, thanks for the quick reply!
