what type of clay do you guys use when you start a planted tank without dirt?

I have this box of "Amaco Natural Play in Clay (Argil Arcilla)" Terra Cotta clay that i bought from an art supply store, the clay color is brown not red like the one dustin uses. So i just want to know is this type of clay safe to use in planted tank. Also if the clay is safe can i use it as a supplement to my other allready set up, slitly planted tank?

srry for the long question, i am a newbie to planted tank.
