what about www.shrimpfarm.com for buying cherrys

Just wondering if your algae problem is any better. I have the same algae and it is regrettably a lot worse than yours. If it did go away please let me know what you did.

It did a little with the black out, increased c02 helped some, shrimp got ate and snails do little.     I Think there is to much light i am going to raise the lights 4 inches. let me know

I see your tank and I was there myself. It seems the algea is out competing your plants. Your nitrogen and phosphate levels might be to low. I just went through a full treatment for BBA and GSA. I used the Seachem line of products. I started with Excel to combat the algea and then dosed the Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potasium, and Iron. My plants are thriving.

thats a black beard/hair algae. i had the same problem in my tank, i beat it with excel dosing and manual removing. remove all the algae you can manually, then take a pipette and - taking 2 to 3 times the reccomended dosage - squirt the excel directly onto the algae. make sure you dont get any onto your fish it kills them every time. in my experience they avoid it so as long as you dont shoot it directly onto them theyll be fine. also, make sure you turn off air stones, filters, and anything that moves water for an hour or so. do this for about 2 weeks every day or untill youre free of this unholy algae. be sure to have an algae eater to eat all the dead stuff good luck :D

ive tried that and my algae keeps coming back   im running about 15ppm diy co2, do water changes every week and and have mid-low light. i even bought a SAE and he doesnt touch the stuff. ive even dipped then in chlorine solution, i even bought some algae killer, and nothing.  ive been fighting it for about 2 years now  . it will go away and i think i have it beat then it will come back like a month later.
