Wild plant collection is something that some of the big time "PRO" hobbyist do. I have been reading in allot of magazines and some online post that people go out an collect plants in the wild. Val. would be the biggest one in question for me becuase I live near lake erie. Can anyone confirm this or possibly share some stories about the EXP. Do not limit it to just plants either tell me about wild fish, in the last 2 issues of tropical fish magazine they have talked about this.

yes Ive heard about val growing in lake Erie and, if you have a big enough tank some fish such as sunfish will make good pets, to tell you the truth fish wise, your best to head to a creek or river as Ive heard that there are many darters, shiners, minnows and chub that live in those streams, although i have no idea as the actual geographical location of most of these fish other then live on eastern side of the Mississippi, but moving back to plants my tank contains 3 species of plants found in north west Canada, creeping jenny which is supposed to live on all of continental north America, what makes an excellent stem plant even under low lighting and no substrate additives, watercress also found all over north America, watercress seems to be to wide for a stem plant yet to leggy for a dense plant, im not happy with how its growing and another plant im yet to identify other then the fact that it will grow to look similar to hygrophila
