Im thinking of starting a fully dirted planted tank. I was hoping for something like another 10 gallon besides the one i already have. I want to get a bag of Dustin's dirt to fill the bottom of the tank and use amazon swords and jungle val in the background, and then some dwarf sag in the front of the tank.. Then if im feeling really crafty ill attach some anubias to a dope piece of driftwood that i have been soaking and boiling for the past 2 weeks.. So along with ordering the dirt from dustin i would also just buy all the plants from him as well to just get everything in one lot. Any thoughts on how i would set this up or suggestions for me? i havent even thought about fish but i want to do all neon tetras but i would add those weeks later after the tank has cycled and the plants have balanced out the tank.. what do you guys think? is this do-able and how do i go about it all? thanks ahead of time guys!

sounds great.

Sounds good to me...  I am in the process of dirting another cheapo 10gal tank.  I going to use laterite at the base then cover that in 1.5-2" of MGOC soil, capped with eco-comp.  Thinking of keeping this one in the garage for the winter and then moving it out side when things warm up...  plants only.  Good luck, sounds like your on the right track.

oh...and I would definitely get your plants from Dustin.  The plants are coming out of dirt, theere are healthly and should be rooted nicely for your dirted tank...  Always a good feeling know where you plants came from too!  I want to try his dirt @ some point...he is having great sucess.

sounds good, be sure to upload some pics/videos when its done!

have you dirted a tank before? I did mine about 2 weeks ago now and I love it, my Ludwigia has shead all its leaves but I'm hoping its just adjusting and will grow new ones, my other plants are doing great though, even got new growth in the pogostenom and amazon swords already!

nope never done it before! i will be sure to share plents of pictures and vids, Thanks!
a sword will quickly overtake a small tank like a 10g.
I had new growth on my Anubis plant and banana plants only after being in dirt for 4 days!
dustin sells the smaller swords and if they get too big i can  them or reduce the lighting
