How do you wiegh down your driftwood?

I have 4 pieces of wood in there. Boiling them helped big time to make them sink down. After boiling them the first two smaller ones went down like rocks. The big ones I had some difficulty due to the fact that some parts of the wood was hard to boil because it was too big for the pan, and it was those parts that were not sinking. So I simply put them together (somewhat pinned them together) like a web so that one was holding the other down. They've been in there 2 months now, and I wouldn't be able to make them float even if I wanted to. I hope this helped you. :)

Well i just put two huge pieces in my tank and i had to tie a ten pound wieght to them to keep them down lol how long do you think it will take for them to start sinking

Cool! That's a good question. Did you boil them? I imagine it should not take longer than 2 months (3months max). Also, you added weights? Isn't the material of the weights going to do your fish tank harm?

Lastly, you said yours is two chunks of wood, does it have holes, nooks, and cracks? The one I have is practically a stick I found in the park that had cool looking stems pocking out heehee! It has no holes, nooks or cracks. So the time could be a lot different for you. I think in the end it's going to be all about patience for you. :D
