So this tank was set up to be a habitat for my 6 large clown loaches and my herd of various cory cats...

75 gallons (which I want to increase to a 125 or 220 for the loaches.) I chose to do a sand substrate for their delicate barbels.

The back half of the tank is all well rinsed play sand. No plants there because the diftwood mixed with faux wood decor runs along the back wall of the tank to create the caves and shade those guys require.

The front half of the tank I've mixed in pre-existing bags of flourite with the play sand. I've also added flourish tabs into the substrate and laterite for the iron. If I remember it I add liquid co2 on a daily basis in the morning when the lights go on. I have not had a problem with anerobic pockets forming in the sand, but I still poke around from time to time. I've got a endangered group of trumpet nails and nerite snails in the tank.

In terms of plants there is a lilly plant, 1 onion, java fern, several crypts, sag grass, anuibus nana, water sprite, Ludwigia repens broad leaf and a more narrow leaf variety, Rotala Magenta. Think that's it.

In terms of light I don't know the lights per gallon, but I've got several strip lights with a mix of flora-glow and 1 small power-glo. I've kept the lights in the 2800k range, the p glow is to add a little blue light for aesthetic reasons.

Lastly the filters, I've got a fluval 305 with scrubber pads jammed into 2 of the 3 layers. One layer of bio max for bacteria. There is also a over the back filter for 75 gallons, It had carbon once, but I really replace it. might rinse the pad, but I don't put in any new carbon. 50% water-change once a week.

I also have a powerhead in the back corner set to a laminar flow, for the loaches.

Phew. I think I've covered everything! Thanks for asking!!
