So, I wasn't at all happy with the way that the load-bearing was done on the Aqueon stand that came with my 210 Gallon tank...just felt that all that weight just shouldn't be resting on the 3/8" shoulders of the existing sides of the tank. So, I reinforced the sides of the tank with 16 1" x 3" oak boards, 4 to a side. It worked out that the 1x3's were just the right size to fit over the center of the existing boards, creating a really nice looking bi-level effect. Stained the boards to match the existing ebony stain of the pedestal.
