What is the best gravel to cap dirt? Looking for small..

I don't come to this site that often. I was checking it out, and Im still not sure. I like to look at the tank pic's and stuff, but...and I mean no offense by this...it's just a bunch of kids here.

And, everyone seems to be regurgitating the same thing they heard from someone else without really knowing what it means, or they're are just completely wrong.

Just an example...dirting a tank. It's all the rage here, but for the wrong reasons. IMO you don't dirt a tank to get great plant growth. You do it to complete the ecosystem, and with the benefit is great plant growth. I've had a Walstad tank for a couple of years now, but everyone here acts like it's a new thing like the iPhone 5.

Sorry if that sounded like a rant...but I guess I'm just old. LOL!
