I love fish tanks. Ever since I was a young kid I always loved fish tanks. In fact I can still remember my first tank when I was only 5 years old. My dad bought a 10 gallon tank and it was in our bathroom. I don't recall seeing a heater but I do remember seeing an oldschool quasi underground filter that I have yet to find in stores today. We had a chinese algae eater and one goldfish with some plastic plants and gravel. I don't recall anyone doing any water changes but I know after a few months that tank smelled nasty.
Despite my first experience with fish tanks I was still drawn to them. Over the years of my childhood I had a fish tank here and there. Eventually when I was in college I tried salt water. Iniitally it was challenging but after some time I had my mini reef tank on point. It looked great. I wish I had some pictures of it to post. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of it because I went off to graduate school.
Now, I am all about the planted freshwater tank. Dustin's Fishtanks inspired me to take on the challenge and so far I am enjoying the experience. However it seems like I always get to a point where I have to tear down my tanks because of green hair algae. I have changed up my maintenance routine and read up on algae and I think I have it down now.
Anyways, this is just a glimpse of my fish tanks from various times throughout the last couple of years.
Enjoy
