Dirt releasing Air/gas bubbles

I've had my tanks dirted for a few weeks now and I've noticed that while I am planting, the dirt releases pockets of air/gas. Anyone know if this is safe? Thanks everyone!

My Tanks

A couple friends got me heavily into fish keeping and planted tanks, I'm very much addicted now and love every minute of it.

I'm currently working on 3 tanks::

10g mixed dirt & gravel planted, driftwood w/anubias, dwarf hairgrass, small amazon sword, and a pair of actively spawning german blue rams.

29g dirted planted with a pair of convict cichlids, mondo grass & driftwood... looking for more plants & ideas for this tank.

110g tall, dirted and planted (chain sword, amazon sword, rotalia indiga, green wendtii crypts, ludwigia repens (broad leaf), red flame sword, jungle val, red tiger lotus, java fern... and I still want some water sprite, star grass and anubias) with 4 double striped rainbows, 2 bosemani rainbows, 2 turquoise rainbows and soon to come: 4 clown loaches and 5 festivum.

Thinking about getting an angel tank up & running, but I want to get my 110g rainbow tank going first. I guess I've got a bad case of multiple tank syndrome. =)
