With its new " Ostrich Pillow " a company claims to have found a solution for jet lag. According to its creators, the pillow is the ideal product to help travelers counter the ill effects of jet lag and long-haul flights.
The "ostrich pillow," created by the design duo Kawamura-Ganjavia from Studio KG, is a portable device that enables power naps anytime, anywhere. Its investors claim that the product allows the user "to create a little private space within a public one, to relax and unwind."
Designed for Studio Banana THiNGS, the pillow offers a micro environment in which to take a warm and comfortable power nap. The soothing cave isolates both head and hands. The pillow can be used at the office, on a train, on a plane or in an airport lounge.
The design came from the idea that a 20-minute power nap helps to improve productivity by 30 percent. The pillow made out of synthetic material surrounds the head, allowing the user to breathe through a mouth hole.
The designers have been working on the idea for over a year now, testing materials and dimensions. The pillow will go into production after its fundraising targets are met on Kickstarter, a funding website for creative business ideas.
The company is trying to collect a total of $70,000; so far it has raised around $46,500 and has 22 days remaining to reach its target.
The two designers met in London while they were studying architecture; their design studio is currently based in Madrid and Lausanne. The duo has participated in exhibitions and conferences at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York and the Tokyo Designers week, among others.
The designers' portfolio includes other travel accessories such as the TWIST&BRUSH, a toothbrush that incorporates a toothpaste dispenser, allowing the user to cut down on toiletries they have to pack and apply a measured dose of toothpaste each time it is needed Ostrich Pillow Buy .
