I have a 10 gallon dirted planted tank with small tetras, is it bad to have the air stone in the tank because of the loss of co2?

If ur not running co2 in ur tank or dosin liquid co2 an airstone is ok because the gas exchange that's occurring is actually bringing in little co2 with the extra oxygen. But like u said wen u are dosing or running co2 an airstone removes alot of the co2 ur puttin in.

i dose liquid co2 around every 3rd day and tend to run my air every 4 or 5 doses the night / later in the day before i dose.

Water movement is generally a good idea. I wouldn't freak out about Co2 loss. The amount of Co2 in your water is the amount of Co2 that supposed to be in the water. Aquatic plants have adapted over millions (billions?) of years to this level of Co2. The last time I checked Dustin doesn't use it and neither do  - and my plants are fine. Also, I don't know what kind of plants you keep, but any plants that poke their heads above the water level receive Co2 from the air where it is much more plentiful.

Liquid co2 is not co2 at all. It's not even carbon really. It's just a chemical with a compositin so close to carbon that it fits in the "puzzle" in place of carbon, that plants would remove from co2 (expel o2 through pearling).

Therefore you dosing your liquid "polygluteraldyhyde" is not affect by an airstone whatsoever.
