I had been in the market for a 100+ gallon tank at a reasonible price and after looking for a short while I found a good deal on CL. I suggest looking in a wide area...I had to drive about an hour but found a great 120 gallon for $200.
Comment by Shane jewett on February 10, 2013 at 5:10am You could try CL or freecycle.com if you don't mind tons of emails. I got lucky and snagged a 125 and a 55 for 80$. I do need to repair them both though. Repairs for the top frames will run about 50$ so it was worth it. just keep tying and there is nothing wrong with getting smaller tanks that you can stack and have more fish types. I think that I am done with any tanks over 100g with the two I have. I will pretty much stick to 55G and below for all my other needs.
Comment by Robert Jango on February 10, 2013 at 8:33am If you need one right away, you'll most likely pay more. If you can afford sit back and be opportunistic, you'll pay less. Either way, you've gotta hustle. All the above suggestions are good. Another idea is a local aquarium society meeting or website.
