Hey fish tank people! So I am currently in the process of getting a breeding trio of apistogramma agassizii "double red" dwarf cichlids. Do any of you have any tricks to get them to spawn?

First off, you should remove one female, as Agassizii are pair forming Apistos.

A trick that has worked for me with apistos, is dropping the water level down to maybe 5-7 inches off the bottom, wait 3 hours to 2 days, and the fill it back up with fresh water (fill the tank up slowly so the fish don't get shocked).

That simulates the "rainy season" which is their natural spawning time.

If u have not bought them yet,get 2-3 pairs (if u have the space). This will allow them to pair off in their own. Good luck
