I have 2 platinum gouramies and 3 opalines in my community tank. Out of them only one is male and it's the platinum. He can be mean to the other girls and even to sometimes chases my yellow honey gouramis. The rest get along great but sometimes chase each other. To be honest I think that if I had more then one male then there might have been an issue.
They leave all my other fish alone. But I have read that they can be agressive. I think more then one male in small tank wouldn't go over well. So far I haven't had any issues with the females and with any of the other fish. But it really depends sometimes on the individual fish. Some are more agressive then others.
Thank you for the insight, I really appreciate it and I'll take the male to female ratio into consideration. :)
