I just bought a crypt plug plant for my aquarium and it was just labeled crypt plug what is this plant?

Wes, that crypt was grown out of water, so it will slowly change over to a submersed aquatic leaf form. until then, it will be very hard to identify what species it is. The best way to ID crypts fron out of water is by their flowers, but since it's now underwater it wont grow flowers.

anyways, it is an easy plant to grow. undemanding, but thrives if the roots are fed root tabs or... you may see it loose lots of leaves soon, that is normal, it's called crypt melt and happens for several reasons.

the word plug was probably because it was grown in a "plug" of rockwool I bet.
