My red ozelot sword plant is sending up a flower stalk should i cut it out or let it grow? Im thinking it will stress it out putting energy into flowering. I know some plants will die or never be the same if it sets seed.  Thanks, Darren

Apons go into dormancy after flowering unless you cut the stalks. Not sure about Swords though. I think they just keep on going and sending out runners. Its a good sign that they're flowering.

you would be lucky to get another stalk if u cut this 1 swords dont have a dormancy pireod and will keep on growing after flowering aso if the stalk is submerged or touching the water you may get some more swords form that i would say let it grow. the stalk uses the energy form the bulb and the swords makes its own energy and extra for the bulb so i dont see  what could go wrong. if you let it grow you can get new plantlets(but you wont get seeds unless you polinate them by hand) but if you dont let it grow then you might miss out on something some people dont even get too see.
