I have a 30 gallon with dirt substrate and gravel cap. Its not cycled yet but when it is can I add two goldfish to the tank with no plants? I wanted to add plants first but things don't always go as planned. I need to get them out of a 10 gallon as soon as possible. I'm trying to cycle my tank as fast as possible but not seeing any signs it has cycled yet. I have no kit so I'm looking for crap in the filter.

Dirt tanks usually cycle faster because of the ammonia the dirt releases when first submerged. You can also take the dirty foam pad from the 10 gallon's filter and either place it in the 30's filter or squeeze it directly into the water. Doing either will transfer helpful bacteria to your new tank.

Cud it's dirted its gonna be like a month before it cycles unless u have a cycled filter from other tank u can put on it or if u used cycled substrate but u can add them now if u do water changes daily on it
