Hi fish tank people! Wanted some help on lighting
My fish tank, am fairly new to aquariums. I have a 110l think that's 25g and wonderd if 2 23watt cfl bulbs would be sufficient. Want to grow different kinds of mosses and java fern, Anubis n stuff. Thanks

if u cant understand the article then Ill say this.  If you have the 6500K color temperature cfls and you have them oriented with the spiral downward, and the screw-in end up inside of a 10.5 in parabolic dome (work light)  then you will have more than enough light to grow low light plants.

if you have the lights directly on top of the tank then you will have much higher light than needed for low light plants.

If you have the lights raised above the tank you can reduce possible algae if you're not using co2 injection.  if you are using co2 injection then you can have increased light intensity.

It was complex but thanks for helping. I've been reading up on lighting for quite awhile. The diameter of the work light I was going to buy is 7" is that still good enuf? Im just going to rest the lights on top the tank with a plastic sheet between 1-5mm. Does thickness matter, if so what would you go with?
