very true, best way is to research. Odyssea products are far from great and maybe even good, but if you can find a kit or make them on your own its always best. getting your own Parabolic reflectors on a t5 will aways be better than this

btw wpg is for when you're using t12 fixtures. it doesnt apply to t5 fixtures, relatively not t8 and definately not t2 nor quality leds
I went to Lowes and bought a light fixture for about $30 and then purchased 2 48 inch 6500K T8 lights for it. I have a planted tank and the plants seem to be doing great. Total cost about $40 or so.
I went to walmart bought a shop light that can withhold t8 lighting and have 2 40watt bulbs currently in it.
