newbie question - dwarf sag melting

Hey everyone,

So I planted a new dirt tank on last Friday. Everything is looking pretty good, but my dwarf sag is melting. I barely see any new growth and I'm starting to worry. Am I freaking out prematurely? Has anyone had this happen to them? How long will it take for it to bounce back? I appreciate any advise.

My tank is 75 gallon, dirted with a fine gravel cap. I have two T5's one bulb at 6000K, and one aquaflora (pink bulb) running 6 hours, a fluval 405 filter and an airstone. I've done 50% water changes every few days.

Thanks for any replies.

So ur saying u "do" see new growth ? Just very little of it right? Well so long new growth is popping up ur fine. Ur plant is getting used to ur tank parameters so the old leaves will melt away and the plant will trow out new leaves better suited for ur tank. It takes plants a week to at times maybe 3 to get used to ur tank so don't worry. Planted tanks are a thing of patience. Don't expect to see crazy growth with ur set up

The length o time won't affect te growth rte as much as adding co2 will so if u want faster growth get co2. Utube has a lot of DIY co2 vids or do paintball co2 here is the link http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=115850.
If u see me on Chat send me a message and ill help u as much I can to my knowledge

That's great u want ur tank to resemble nature the most u can but wen tho teirs 12 hrs of daylight in te equator most plants grow in shaded areas or parts were little light reaches the ground. Watch this really infoative and ull probably learn a few things its about the amazon river http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=GNj75_4jLaY

Thanks so much for the info!! I'm not sure if there is new growth, or its just existing. I'll post a pic of the tank! I'm excited to get into the hobby. I've been researching for a couple years, and its nice to actually have one of my own! wish me luck!! haha
