2 HOB filters and plants sounds like it is filtering pretty well. So as long as you have never had any problems with ammonia, your good to go.
If you simply want to downsize, go for it!

I sold my eel and loaches and got one more angel and cory. Just waiting on my lights to come in and ill be set
