When I look back to the time, when I was a teenager and owned my 15 gallon and year later my 20 gallon aquarium, I was more interested in the fishes swimming around and plants were just a natural way to deliver oxygen for fish. I didn't really like the idea of letting the plants be the interesting part of it. It also felt like weeding the tank every month, cause I couldn't see any fish.
Then there came a time where my aquarium wasn't that interesting any more and I berried in the garage and gave it later to someone who had mice or a hamster, I don't know.
Then two weeks ago a colleague and I started to talk about pets, and we found out that we both have had an aquarium, and got me thinking of restarting my old hobby, but this time I loved the idea having the plants play main part in it and the fish is more or less decoration, or maybe something like a companion. I definitely don't want that the fish will dominate the aquarium.
One thing I did learn in the past is, that if you want to have a robust water quality, you need at least a 100l or 25 gallon tank, and I just now where to find one for free, with some equipment. My uncle owns a 40 years old tank, and it takes a little over 40 gallon, and it is also an old fashion design with an iron frame. So I asked him if I can have it, and he's happy to give it to me. Yes!
When I'll get it, I need to give it some new paint and fresh silicon sealing.
After I'm done with that, I will prepare the dirt for the plants.
I'll try to do a vlog, but I can't promise a thing.
