so...the first time i got my co2 tank filled the psi read 1000, lasted me 4 months. the second time i filled it,it lasted a month and half at 800. this time it reads 700. am i getting screwed or what. i checked for leaks on the entire system and there are no leaks. i keep my ph at 6.6 it kicks on one hour before the lights and off one hour after, of course it kicks in when needed during the day
first of all you dont need the co2 to be on 1 hour after your lights are off. From what I've gathered, its fine with the co2 turned off 1 hour before the lights turn off. I turn my co2 off 30 mins before the lights turn off.
as for the co2 tank, I suggest you ask if you can bring your regulator or a simple pressure gauge that can screw onto the tank before you purchase the swap. Another way to measure the tank is by weight. Assuming that all the tanks are aluminum then you can ask if you can weight the tanks. get the heaviest tank for your 5lb tank. Remember they measure the amount of co2 by weight. they should allow you to weigh the tanks unlike taking a pressure measure which releases some co2.
