I had a few in my planted tank, till the ate my plants. I keep them in my live breeder tank to eat algae.

I have 4 of them in my tank, they do not seem to bother any of my plants and I have almost no algae.

I've had hundreds of snails in my tank before i moved, and they never touched my plants. There was enough leaves and extra food for them, that's why im sure they didn't eat my plants. From what ive looked up, snails will not go after your plants, but after dead vegetation and food particles. Once their numbers rise, if you don't have enough food for all the snails, they will go for your living plants. They have never been a problem for me.
