so my 44 has a 250w metal hilade hanging over it high enough so most the light is disapated by the time it hits the tank its a 2 foot tall tank with around 2 inchs of dirt most the plants (jungle val crypts and ludwigia) are doing great but my drift wood and anubias are flat out over runs with algae(its like a mariomo moss ball type algae) and i keep having fish die i got plenty of filtration im big on biological filteration, the tank is around a year old it nw has one discus about 2-3 iches 5 black neon tetras 3 male guppies 2 female guppy( the last 4 i got died just not a good batch) about 5 corys (2 panda 2 sterbai 1 unkown) two red tail loaches and one hilstream laoch i was thinkig of moving them to a 29 gal. for about 1-2 weeks while i tear down the tank and clean it and the drift wood and reseal the tank before the seals give... and after learning from my 55 ima go with less dirt more clay and a sand cap plants seem to grow better... my question should the fish beokay int the 29 as long as i keep up with water changes and im putting the filters on it as well or should i spread them out over the 29 and 20 gal tall, likely if i do it that way they will be on the floor with lids so my cats dont decide to play with them. what would you suggest
